Community Foster Care was set up in February 1999 following a grant from Gloucestershire County Council and the European Union under a 'Return To Work' scheme.
We are a not for profit organisation. This means we have charity status and we work as a social enterprise putting any surplus we make into improving services and creating new ones so that children and young people placed with us have all the help they need to reach their potential. We work closely with our foster carers, supporting each other and ensuring the children and young people have a sense of belonging.
Community Foster Care is unique in that it started out in the Neighbourhood Projects in Gloucester concentrating on families that thought they couldnt foster and whilst the service is much bigger now, Community Foster Care is extremely proud of its roots.
We work closely with other not for profit organisations like Young Gloucestershire and Together in Matson and are looking to build the number of community partners we work with. By working together and supporting each other the children and young people placed with Community Foster Care can gain access to additional activities and support networks which all help to rebuild their self esteem.
We make a difference to children's lives and to the communities where they live so if you want to know more about a foster care agency that feels like a large but supportive family, then please contact us now!
