Long Term Fostering

Long term fostering is sometimes referred to as 'Forever Families'. This is for families who want to look after one, two or three unrelated children or a sibling group on a permanent basis. The children may have come through Care Proceedings where the Judge has stated they are to remain 'looked after' by the local authority or their parents may believe their child will be better looked after by foster carers on a permanent basis. However, many of the children and young people living with long term foster carers will continue to have contact with birth parents.

Wendy and Steve are long term carers and have fostered with Community Foster Care since it started in 1999.
