How And Why People Decide To Foster

A group photo of Community Foster Care carers

The reasons why people decide to foster are varied but there is one main one: all our foster families want to make a difference in a child's life.

Fostering is something that our families have thought about for many years before making the step and contacting Community Foster Care.

Some are already parents, they see themselves as doing a good job with their own children and see no reason why they couldn't be role models for foster children.

Some of our families have not got children of their own but feel they have got time, patience, warmth and love to give to children and young people who cannot live with their own families.

A lot of our foster families have adult children and have an 'empty nest' and enjoy having the noise and fun of children at home.

Many foster carers say they wish to give something back to their community. Whatever the reason, by deciding to foster it will be one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have.
