Find out about foster care – info day in Fleetwood, July 28

21 July 2017 | CFC News

An information session about becoming a foster carer will be held at Freeport Fleetwood on Friday July 28.

Experts from the charity Community Foster Care will be at the shopping centre in Anchorage Road from 10am until 3pm.

“We hope that shoppers will come and have a quick chat,” said Emma Weaver, Registered Manager with CFC, based in Quarry Road, Lancaster.  “There are hundreds of local children who need loving and stable homes.”

There are more than 1,300 children in Lancashire in need of foster carers who can offer stability and security, and the number is rising.

Foster carers come from all walks of life and can be single, married or divorced, male or female. They must be aged 25-plus.

Community Foster Care is a not-for-profit agency which matches carers with children. “If you want to join an agency that feels like a large family with a high level of support, that is what we are about,” said Emma.
