Anyone interested in fostering is welcome to find out more over a cuppa at Costa Coffee in Workington on Friday March 9.
Staff from Community Foster Care, based in Peart Road, Workington, will be at the cafe in Dunmail Park shopping centre from 9.30am until 12.30pm.
They will also be outside Morrisons in Workington on Monday March 5 from 10.30am - 2.30pm.
“Becoming a foster carer is rewarding and life-changing,” said Emma Weaver, Registered Manager with Community Foster Care.
“Many people think they can’t foster, but the opposite is often true. There’s lots of help and training to get you started and constant support along the way.
“Come and have a chat and we’ll be happy to provide all the info you need.”
There are more than 600 children in care in Cumbria. “Children are in care through no fault of their own. All they want is a safe place to call home and people who will try to understand them,” said Emma.
Foster carers come from all walks of life and can be male or female, single, married or divorced. They must be over 25 and in generally good health. Community Foster Care is a not-for-profit agency and a registered charity which provides foster carers for children all over Cumbria.
