Theatre Trip: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

On 7th May we stepped through the wardrobe with 27 of our carers and young people, and magically appeared in Narnia!

OK, we actually hired a coach to take us to the Bristol Hippodrome, but we think our fantastic, fantasy day out was every bit as magical as the real thing.  After our traditional annual pantomime trip was cancelled (thanks Covid) we were determined to book in a trip to the theatre for our amazing community and this one didn’t disappoint.

Our coach made it to sunny Bristol in time for our families that travelled by coach to enjoy a wander around the city before the performance; It was a perfect opportunity to spend some time with the children and young people, and to chat to them about our summer programme of events. Excitement was definitely high when we took our seats in the theatre.

We were centre stage for the performance, giving us a fantastic view of the visual effects. Some of our carers hadn’t read the Narnia books and we loved hearing the children telling them about the stories and explaining the plot to them during the show.

One of our carers gave the outing this glowing review:

“What a great show! It's always nice to meet fellow carers and to see young people enjoying themselves. We're already looking forward to the next event.”

There’s so much planned for the coming months. It’s very special to be able to bring our community together again and we can’t wait to see everyone for our next adventure.
